Introducing: Out Of My League's RLWC2021 Daily Wrap
Nobody wants to stay up all night watching games they only half care about, especially when it's not your job. It's not mine, but I want it to be so here we are.
Hello to my friends, family, strangers and 97 phoney emails I’ve made to boost my views and emotional well-being.
I began the ‘Out of My League’ newsletter in 2021, posting at least two weekly articles for the entire NRL season. While it required dedication in the face of almost zero reward, if I’m honest, I never truly committed.
I’m looking to change that.
So, in the hope of turning a new leaf, I’m planning to turn the Rugby League World Cup into some content. While I’ll continue to regularly create opinion pieces and fun articles like the upcoming ‘The Real Reasons Behind the Kangaroos Numbering Fiasco’, I have something special planned that I think footy fans will enjoy.
The daily wrap will post sometime in the morning shortly after the completion of the last World Cup game.
For example, if Australia V Fiji finishes at 7:30am, the Daily Wrap of both England V Samoa and Australia V Fiji will be up by 8:30am.
Generally, this will include a concise summary of each game, key moments I thought stood out, like a crucial mistake or the smooth combination of the Kangaroos' left edge, as well as some standout performances.
If you’re thinking you can get most of this stuff scrolling through Instagram, you’re probably right.Â
What you won’t get with that, and what I’m banking on you enjoying, is the combination of quick-hitting information with (touch wood) well-written, entertaining opinion and analysis.
It’s entirely free and, if I’m lucky enough to have your subscription bestowed upon me, the Daily Wraps will be waiting in your email inbox as soon as they’re ready.
At some point, I’d like to think about adding a paid tier for which my subscribers would proffer what they’d like.
For now, I’d just like you to read it and enjoy.
Whether you like the cut of my jib, enjoy the dopamine boost when you hear your email ping or purely pity me, make sure to subscribe below.
